As there is no electricity in Muurai, we live with the sun.Volunteers thus wake up around 6h/6h30AM in order to prepare breakfast with their hosting families.  We then all meet at 7h45 at "la casita", kind of safe warehouse where we store our materials and luggages. Mornings are dedicated to artistical and educational activities with the college students.

About food

Once a week we buy food and potable water in Riohacha old market.

Each family thus get a basket with their volunteer food plus some fruit to share.

We generally eat vegetarian food however families may offer their favorite meal composed of goat.

From noon to 3PM, volunteers go back to thier respectives families in order to have lunch and rest a bit. In the afternoon we meet up in order to prepare the next days activities and to some eco-construction works until 6pm.

Then everybody have its daily shower (using a bucket) and go prepare the dinner that volunteers have all together in the college's kitchen. This is a good time to learn about each other, debrief the day and share some personal knowledges.

After dinner, volunteers go back to their family for a last exchange around the fire or to admire the starry sky. We slip in hammocks, as it is the tradition in the wayuu community. They could sleep inside or outside the house upon their willing.
